The Complete Movie Guide (Including Games And Novels)

The movie guide book 2020 is a comprehensive book that includes movies, games, novels, and more.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a multibillion-dollar Disney brand that includes a ride with the same name at Disneyland Park, as well as a series of films, novels, comics, and video games. Pirates of the Caribbean attractions are available at all four Disney theme parks as of August 2006, and the films have earned over $4.5 billion worldwide. Despite the fact that the Pirates series is so famous, many people wonder what sequence to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in, and we’re here to tell you the solution.

The following is the sequence in which you should watch Pirates of the Caribbean:

  • Wedlocked (2011) – Short Film from Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl’s Curse (2003)
  • Dead Man’s Chest (Pirates of the Caribbean) (2006)
  • At World’s End (Pirates of the Caribbean) (2007)
  • On Stranger Tides is the sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
  • Dead Men Tell No Tales (Pirates of the Caribbean) (2017)

As you can see, following the Pirates series is very easy; all you have to do is watch the films in sequence. Still, let’s go further into each film, explaining what it’s about and why you should see them in that sequence. We’re also giving you all of the games and books, so if you’re a huge Pirates fan, you should add those to your purchase as well.

Watch Order from the Pirates of the Caribbean

Check out our whole Pirates of the Caribbean viewing list, complete with explanations for each of the five films. At the time of writing, Disney has confirmed the release of a sixth film in the series, but it will be a spin-off film, likely without Captain Jack Sparrow (Disney has banned Johnny Depp) and starring Margot Robbie. If anything changes, we’ll update this post, but for now, let’s get started.

1. Wedlocked (2011) – Short Film from Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code

This is for die-hard Pirates of the Caribbean enthusiasts. The short film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code, was directed by James Ward Byrkit and was exclusively available as a bonus feature in the US 15-disc 3D Blu-ray/2D Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy box set, which contained films 1–4, as well as the UK five-disc collection.

Scarlett (Lauren Maher) and Giselle (Vanessa Branch) are wenches who help each other get ready for their weddings, when they will each marry their husband. The two wenches find themselves at an auction conducted by the Auctioneer after discovering that their grooms were the same man—Jack Sparrow.

The short video acts as a prologue to The Curse of the Black Pearl, explaining why Jack Sparrow’s boat, the Jolly Mon, was seen sinking at the start of the tale, why wenches Scarlett and Giselle were so angry with him, and how Cotton lost his tongue. The storyline was inspired by the original Disney park attraction’s “Auction scene.”

While working on sets for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2008), Byrkit had the concept for the project (2007). The short film was prepared in a matter of days and filmed over three days since the pirate cove sets from the feature films—where the short film takes place—were scheduled to be destroyed. Byrkit chose the Pirate Code Book as the basis for the short film since it was a mechanism that might be used in future tales.

You can see it in the video below.
